Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) members met on Tuesday to debate the impact of an Anti-Money Laundering Law on the local diamond industry.
IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer: "This is an important day for us after the opening of the small diamond factory of stones of up to three carats. The picture will now be completed with the opening of a plant for larger stones."
IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer made mention of the successful International Diamond Week event that took place last week, the recent changes to the Rapaport price list, recent company financial events at the bourse and also sent optimistic greetings ahead of the Jewish New Year.
IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer: "There was a recent survey among women in the United States where they were asked what was the most prestigious gift they would like to receive, and they overwhelmingly said diamonds."
The exhibition is one of the highlights of the buyers week and showcases the latest technological advances in the diamond industry.
