The Technology Wing of the diamond exchange, which was recently renovated, was inaugurated today (Sunday) in a ceremony held in the Trading Hall of the exchange on the first day of the International Diamond Week which began this morning.
The renovation includes parquet flooring, the replacement of the work of employees of the Technology Wing as well as the glass partitions that separate the Wing from the Trading Hall.
The Israel Diamond Exchange President, Shmuel Schnitzer, greeted the attendees at the opening ceremony saying: "Although the official start of the International Diamond Week will take place tomorrow, today we re-open the Technology Wing which has undergone a significant upgrade. This project is the result of successful cooperation between the institutions in the sector: the IDE, the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association, and the Israel Diamond Institute," said Schnitzer.
"I thank Industry Committee Chairman Yoram Dvash who led the project and Marcel Papo and Yossi Cohen. I hope you will all make daily use of this state-of-the-art equipment and I wish you the best of luck in manufacturing, in the Technology Wing and during the International Diamond Week."
Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association President Kobi Korn said: "I am pleased to participate in the inauguration of the renovated wing. Many exchange members make use of this equipment. We had plans to expand the Wing and create another floor, but in the meantime will make do with this. I thank all who made it happen, especially Yoram."
The Diamond Controller, Shmuel Mordechai, told the audience: "It's a wonderful day for everyone. I hope we can use it fully. It is important to expand the Division and create an additional floor which will contribute even more to all manufacturers and dealers. I thank all who engaged in the construction of the wing."
Industry Committee Chairman Yoram Dvash, who headed the project for the renewal of the Technology Wing, said: "I thank the President of the Exchange, Shmuel Schnitzer, President of the Association, Kobi Korn, for their support. Thanks to the bourse management for their budget allocation, to Loni Grinker, Yair Lipshitz, Anat Castro, Chaim Medina, and IDE Security Manager Yisrael Vanchovski for their input, and everyone else who was involved in it.
