Control Committee

Control Committee

The Diamond Exchange Control Committee functions as an emissary of the diamond exchange community, acting as a "watchdog "for the bourse members in their capacity as shareholders. Its foremost responsibility is closely monitoring the work of the elected officials and professional staff, ensuring that these activities are in line with the bourse's regulations and decisions.

The Control Committee examines the way decisions are reached by the bourse administration and committees, making sure that all officeholders maintain proper work procedures with full transparency.

The committee, which also serves as the Control Committee of The Diamond Exchange Enterprises, consists of no more than nine members, with elections held at the same time as the elections for the Diamond Exchange directorate.

The Control Committee operates as an independent entity, appointing from among its members representatives who are active in the various Diamond Exchange committees. It investigates and examines each request or complaint lodged with it, making sure to closely monitor the activities of directors and committees with an emphasis on decision-making procedures through to their implementation.

As part of the Control Committee's regular activities, if it sees fit, the Committee may decide to publish its findings on the notice-board in the Exchange trade hall, for the purpose of conveying relevant information to the community.

Once a year, at the general assembly, the Control Committee delivers its annual report to the community of exchange members. The report summarizes the committee's activities and findings during the past year, with reference to exceptional events (positive and negative), as well as recommendations for improvements and corrections in the future.
