Hosting the Japanese ambassador to Israel Mr. Mizushima Koichi
First official visit of the ambassador and his delegation to the Israel Diamond Exchange
Today at the Diamond Exchange, I had the pleasure of hosting the Japanese ambassador to Israel Mr. Mizushima Koichi, his wife and the head of commercial and economic relations at the Japanese embassy. This was the first official visit of the ambassador and his delegation to the Israel Diamond Exchange, and it was aimed at strengthening cooperation and dialogue with the Israeli diamond community.
During the ambassador's visit, we reviewed the economic activity of the Israeli diamond industry. Attending the visit were also the Israel Diamond Controller Mr. Ofir Gore, Israel Diamond Exchange Deputy President Mr. Shalom Papir, Vice President Ezra Boaron, and the Honorary President Shmuel Schnitzer, who serves as the vice chairman of the Israel-Japan Chamber of Commerce.
This visit, designed to strengthen trade relations between Israel and Japan in the field of diamonds, is of enormous importance. We hope that in the near future we will be able to reap the mutual benefits of strengthened ties, and to return the trade between the two countries to its former glory.
Wishing you a pleasant holiday,
Boaz Moldawsky
President of the Israel Diamond Exchange
