The meeting opened with a reception in President Yoram Dvash's office, with President of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association, Mr. Kobi Koren, IDI Chairman Boaz Moldawsky and other members of the Board.
At the start of the visit, the attendees told Dr. Flug that they remember how she stood by us at them at various junctions and especially in the struggle to keep the banks.
During the meeting, they reviewed the dramatic moves the diamond exchange has been making in recent years, including the establishment of the Center for Innovation, which accompanies start-ups and developing solutions to the diamond world, the establishment of the tender center and the decision to establish in the diamond exchange a large stones factory. The attendees explained that these moves are the result of reading contemporary reality and an investment in the future. The said that they believe that in these breakthrough projects lies the success of our diamond exchange.
Later in the conversation, the attendees presented the issue of bank financing. they explained to Dr. Flug, as they did in recent meetings with the Deputy Minister of Finance and the Supervisor of Banks, that this is a cardinal problem, which severely limits our ability to develop the industry and prosper. they also presented the high opening data of the exchange's competitors from Dubai, India and Europe to those of the Israeli diamond merchants.
