Graff Diamonds Unveils 118.78 Carat 'Graff Venus'

The polished gem came from a 357-carat rough stone recovered from the Letseng mine in Lesotho in 2015.

Graff Diamonds, the London-based jewelry firm which deals in some of the most prestigious gems in the world, has revealed what it says is the largest heart-shape, D-flawless diamond in the world.

The extraordinary gemstone weighs 118.78 carats.

The company said that it took its craftsmen nearly 18 months to cut and polish the type IIa diamond, which it has named the Graff Venus.

The rough stone was sold by Gem Diamonds for $19.3 million to an undisclosed buyer last year.

Graff Diamonds Chairman Laurence Graff described the gems as "the most beautiful heart shape diamond I have ever seen.”
