DDC Reports Successful Start to Israel Diamond Week

The annual event, featuring a large number of Israeli diamond companies, is running through to the end of today (Wednesday).

The Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York, in collaboration with the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE), greeted over 115 exhibitors and several hundred buyers on Monday at a successful opening day for its fifth Israel Diamond Week on the DDC’s trading floor in Manhattan.

“The Israel Diamond Week shows have become signature events in the industry," said DDC President Reuven Kaufman. "We have seen previous attendees return and there has been strong traffic and active trading during these first two days

“This is an excellent opportunity for companies to promote their business, especially as we approach the end of the year and the holiday season.

In this fifth edition of Israel Diamond Week, we are excited to once again welcome diamantaires from Israel to our trading floor.”

Haim Volner, Chairman of the Israel Diamond Exchange's Steering Committee for Polished Diamond Shows/Diamond Weeks, commented: “No doubt that in these rough times in the diamond industry, this event brings business for members of both Clubs and for the industry as a whole.

“The Israeli exhibitors have praised the New York bourse as being a warm and hospitable environment for business.”

The event aims to foster trade in the industry and bring wholesalers, dealers and buyers face to face to promote business transactions and long-term relationships.

Israel Diamond Week at the DDC is being held through November 2 at the DDC’s headquarters in the heart of the diamond district at 580 Fifth Avenue at 47th Street in New York.
