De Beers' parent company, Anglo American Corp, reported diamond production of 6.3 million carats for the third quarter of 2016.
Anglo American, which owns 85% of De Beers, said there had been a 4 percent rise on the same quarter of 2015.
De Beers cut back output in the third quarter of last year due to a fall in demand as a result of what were seen as too-high rough prices.
For the first three-quarters of this year, production was 19.6 million carats, which is a nine percent decline on last year's figure.
