Sotheby’s in Hong Kong will be offering the ‘De Beers Millennium Jewel 4’ oval fancy internally flawless vivid blue diamond at its Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Spring Sale on 5 April.
The diamond weighs 10.10 carats – and is the largest oval fancy vivid blue diamond ever to be up for sale at auction.
The gem belongs to an Asian private collection, and is the only oval-shaped stone among the 12 rare diamonds – 11 blue and one colorless – that form the De Beers Millennium Jewels collection unveiled by De Beers in 2000 in celebration of the millennium.
