IDE President's Speech at Opening of Diamond Week

Yoram Dvash opens the Winter edition of the International Diamond Week.

CIBJO President, Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, World Jewelry Hub Chairman, Mr. Eli Izhakoff, the delegation from Turkey, headed by IKO Chairman Mr. Norayr Işler, and respected buyers, it is an honor for us to host you at the winter edition of International Diamond Week.

I would like to extend a special welcome to two of our dearest friends. Our dear Eli Izhakoff, this time we have the honor of hosting you as honorary president of the DDC, just one of many honorary titles you hold, along with honorary president of the WFDB, CIBJO and WDC.

It is clear that the special relationship we have with you was the foundation for our excellent relations with the DDC. Thank you, Eli.

CIBJO President Dr. Cavalieri has come especially to take part in the signing ceremony of the founding document of the new organization the IDE and IDI are creating – Israel Diamond Jewelry.

Establishing this organization, as well as opening Diamond Week to diamantaires who will display diamond jewelry, reflect our recognition of the imperative to shorten the distance between diamantaires and consumers.

We must all realize that the world is no longer a global village but a small, crowded, and unstable neighborhood.

In light of the current situation, we must all improve and refine our professional level . We have to find the optimal way to bring us as close as possible to the end-consumer, and to plan ahead for the long run, so that today’s children will be the diamond consumers of tomorrow.

We encourage our guests to spend time on our trading floor today, tomorrow and the next day and discover that here, in Israel, you can find everything under one roof – from basic goods to specials in all shapes, colors and qualities in the full range of prices.

We hope you return home from Israel with a taste of more.

We believe that together with you, we will continue to develop a good working environment and a win-win situation.

I hope we will see many handshakes and hear many mazal ubrachas in the next few days.

The best of luck to us all.
