World Diamond Council (WDC) Executive Director Patricia Syvrud will participate in the upcoming edition of the International Diamond Week in Israel (IDWI) that will take place February 14-18 at the Israel Diamond Exchange.
"The International Diamond Week in Israel is a unique diamond trading platform that will bring hundreds of diamond traders and buyers from all over the world to Israel," Syvrud said. "Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity to share the critical work of the WDC and its role within the Kimberley Process (KP) in the presence of the IDE membership and the many hundreds of visiting diamond buyers." she continued.
"Israel's stature as a global diamond hub is renowned, and as the home to many of the WDC's valued membership, I'm personally thrilled to be able to see and learn firsthand about this sector of our industry," Syvrud added.
Syvrud will participate in a Diamond Marketing and Promotion panel session on February 15 at 4pm. Her presentation will focus on increasing attendees' knowledge and awareness of the WDC's and industry's critical role within the KP, the issues the KP will face in 2016, and how those issues will affect the industry.
"In today's market, one cannot speak about diamond marketing and promotion without also addressing the reputational aspects of our industry. Consumers demand transparency and both diamond dealers and retailers need to be well equipped with up-to-date information to be able to answer any questions consumers may have on the topic," Syvrud noted.
