Israeli Nobel Prize winner in chemistry in 2011, Professor Dan Shechtman, will be the guest of honor at the next International Diamond Week to be held at the Israel Diamond Exchange from February 14-18 February 2016.
Shechtman, who investigated material structure, won the Nobel Prize in 2011 and the Israel Prize for physics in 1998 following his research which discovered and defined a new natural crystalline structure.
Shechtman heads the Wolfson Research Center, an also serves as a professor at Iowa State University, is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences, a member of the National Academy of engineering of the United States and a member of the European Academy of Sciences.
In 2011, he served as judge in Israel Prize Selection Committee.
