Israeli diamond mapping system a worldwide success.

Israeli d iamond technology company Sarine Technologies said that its Galaxy scanning and inclusion mapping systems have now scanned 10 million diamonds across the world .

The Galaxy system was introduced in 2009 and maximize s polished diamond yield and optimize s planning and production by rapidly and accurately mapping data for rough diamonds based on clarity, cut and carat weight.

Sarine CEO Uzi Levami said the Galaxy system has " uniquely propelled the industry to a higher level of efficiency and productivity .

“By scanning 10 million rough stones, our customers have clearly expressed their confidence and trust in our cutting edge technology. We will continue our commitment to developing and delivering the highest quality solutions, including the new Meteor system .

The Meteor system will enable inclusion mapping of diamonds in the 0.25-0.85-carat sector of rough goods , which Sarine forecasts will speed up the scanned throughput to up to 250 stones a day.

The system is currently being tested in India and is forecast to be released later this year.
