Senior members of the Israeli diamond industry, including IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer and Chairman of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association, Kobi Koren, participated in a reception last week at the annual meeting of the Association of Friends of the hospital.
IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer, Chairman of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association, Kobi Koren, Acting president in the absence of the President and Chairman of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association, Hezi Bloom, Deputy President and Chairman of the Finance Committee, Moti Besser, General Manager of the IDE, and their wives attended last Tuesday (9.9.2014) the annual reception organized by the Association of Friends of the Hospital.
The event which was held at the Avenue events center at the airport complex, conducted under the auspices of the United States Ambassador to Israel, Daniel Shapiro and many senior figures in the Israeli economy.
The aim of the evening was raising funds to build a new Emergency Room at Meir Hospital.
During the event, IDE President Schnitzer, on behalf of the diamond exchange, presented a contribution towards the establishment of the new center. It will cover an area of about 5,000 square meters, and designed to handle about 200,000 patients in the Sharon region.
There was also an auction of items donated by the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team, including a group photo and a player’s shirt with the signatures of the players who won the European Championship.
In addition to senior diamond sector figures, the event was also attended by many senior Israeli trade and industry representatives, including Bank Hapoalim Chairman, Yair Seroussi, Chairman of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Eyal Lapidot, Union Bank CEO Amnon Neubach and many others.
