CIBJO Annual Congress in Due To Start On Monday

This year the Congress will focus on creating a unified structure for the organization's Blue Books for diamonds, gemstones and pearls.
The annual Congress of CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, is set to start tomorrow (Monday) and will deal with issues relating to diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, ethics and pearls and other issues.

CIBJO prints its Blue Books containing updates following lengthy debates held by the commissions on the various issues.

The Diamond Commission is made up of members of the industry from 30 countries and is led by Chairman Udi Sheintal, Deputy Chairman Moti Besser, General Manager of the Israel Diamond Exchange and Harry Levy, President of the London Diamond Exchange.

Within the framework of the Congress, the Diamond Commission is organizing workshops on the effects of synthetic diamonds on the natural diamond market.
