IDE Offers Free Hotel Stay For Approved Buyers
More than 150 international buyers have already registered, and the organizers expect 500+ to attend.
The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) is offering approved buyers up to four free nights’ accommodation in one of the designated hotels close to the diamond bourse for the April 6-10 US & International Diamond Week.
The fair is the fifth event held in co-operation between the IDE and the Diamond Dealers Club of New York. More than $1 billion of polished diamonds will be displayed by over 400 Israeli diamond manufacturers and trading firms.
Moti Fluk, the chairman of the Diamond Week organizing committee, said: “There will be a huge variety of goods for sale on the trading floor, from cheaper goods to very exclusive and more expensive goods, in all shapes and sizes.”
The Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York again expects to bring a significant delegation to the event. DDC President Rauven Kaufman said that by offering exclusive but affordable diamond sourcing opportunities to his members, many DDC members who might otherwise choose not to participate, would be attending. “We're confident that the upcoming US & International Diamond Week in Israel will strengthen business relationships between American and Israeli diamond traders," he stated.
IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer emphasized the importance of the event’s operational framework as well as its special character “By bringing diamantaires back to the trading floor, we’re creating a level playing field for all participants. This, in my view, offers the same measure of added value to all participating members. Of course, the fact that many hundreds of buyers are visiting our bourse for the US & International Diamond Week constitutes important added value to our entire diamond business community,” Schnitzer said.
The trade event is taking place within the secure bourse buildings, where the largest trading floor of any diamond bourse in the world is present. By holding the Diamond Week in the bourse, organizers have ensured participants' costs are kept to an absolute minimum in an effort to pass those savings on to buyers.
