Bourse Members Helping to Promote Diamond Show
Scores of members of the Israel Diamond Exchange have updated their Facebook pages with heart-shaped images with text saying "I'm also taking part in the Diamond Week".
The campaign is aimed at providing exposure among their clients abroad to the Rough Diamond Week in March and the US/International Diamond Week in April.
Scores of members of the Israel Diamond Exchange are taking part in a campaign to bring worldwide attention to the two large diamond shows due to take place at the exchange in the coming months.
They have done so by updating their Facebook pages with heart-shaped images with text saying "I'm also taking part in the Diamond Week".
It started out as the initiative of Rachel Sahar, Marketing and Sales Manager at the G. Arabob Diamonds firm, and has quickly become the topic of the day among diamantaires on Facebook. And scores of other IDE members are joining every day by adding the heart-shaped tag.
The campaign has been aided by the fact that many IDE members have Facebook pages that they update regularly in order to remain in regular contact with diamond industry colleagues around the globe. Thus, they are able to effortlessly promote the Israeli Diamond Week events.
"More than once I came across the fact that colleagues abroad had no idea about trade shows taking place in Israel," said Rachel Sahar. "I decided to take steps that would get right to the heart of the diamond community and to add the badge to my Profile pictures and to suggest to my friends that they do likewise.
"Once I went with the image into the Facebook pages of the Diamantaires Chamber and of the Group to promote and advance the diamond bourse, many colleagues recognized the marketing potential and added the badge to their pictures. Eyal Yakobi helped to spread the word by tagging hundreds of colleagues who have used the badge.
"The success of the Rough Diamond Week and the US & International Diamond Week is in our hands as much as it is in those of the bodies and organizations formally dealing with it. I am happy to help anyone who is interested in adding the badge to the their picture," Sahar said.
