IDE Members Hear About Sarine Technologies' Solutions
Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA) Managing Director Ofer Laufman began the meeting, explaining that it was aimed at providing IDE members with an insight into technological advances at Sarine Technologies.
Senior management from Sarine Technologies gave a packed audience of members of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) a briefing on technological developments in the diamond industry at a seminar at the exchange organized by the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association.
IsDMA Chairman Avraham (Bumi) Traub said: “We are mainly battling to bring back some diamond manufacturing to Israel. There is knowledge here, as well as the technology and money. Those companies that continued to manufacture here know that technology is a critical tool in today’s diamond world,” he said.
Meanwhile, Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) Chairman Moti Ganz said. “As the Chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute, I am happy to hear any ideas that Sarine can bring to the IDI's technology sector. We will find the money for projects that can help advance the Israeli diamond industry,” he added.
Acting IDE President Kobi Koren also spoke at the seminar, saying that "Technology develops, and it brings with it some surprises. We cannot stop technology. We need to go with developments in technology and not fight them,” Koren said.
Sarine Technology Managing Director Uzi Levami said the diamond sector could not afford to be left behind. “I think that everyone [in the diamond sector] can benefit from the fact that Sarine is an Israeli company and that the development takes place here." He noted that the firm's ideas are always tested out with Israeli diamond manufacturers first.
Sarine Technologies' Chaim Shlezinger, responsible for development, said that modern technology enabled diamantaires to attain maximum yield and expand profit margins.
He demonstrated the benefits of the Galaxy system to IDE members, saying that it could process diamonds of all sizes – from less than one carat to 200 carats. He also explained the use of the Galaxy Ultra machine, which includes a microscope inside the Galaxy machine.
Meanwhile, Sarine Technologies' Yisrael Tsafrir explained about the firm's polished diamonds solutions.
