IDE's Technological Wing Receives Top Equipment

Chairman of Technological Committee Yoram Dvash: "I am sure that bourse members will get the most out of this equipment. Many thanks for the contribution of this equipment."
The Lior Gemological Equipment company has donated sophisticated gemological equipment to the IDE's Technology Division, including diamond scales, table light, a device for checking the level fluorescence in stones and a desk with a granite surface.

In addition, the company loaned for use in the Technology Division a device for measuring stresses in stones before they are cut.

Lior Gemological Equipment CEO Lior Strang said the diamond scales from Ohaus Corporation has a weighing capacity of 600 carats, and accuracy of one-thousandth of a carat (0.001) and can weigh in grams or carats. The Dialite Pro table light by the German company Eickhorst is used in GIA laboratories and includes two separate bulbs intensities of 6500 and 5800 Kelvin. The bulbs allow users to inspect white stones with optimal lighting conditions of daylight, or fancy stones with the full color spectrum.

Meanwhile, the UV colorscope device checks the fluorescence in stones, while the Polaris scope measures the level of stress in the rough before laser cutting. The granite desktop plate prevents vibrations, allowing optimal precision in weighing diamonds using a Mettler-Toledo machine with an accuracy of 1/10,000, which the company contributed to the Technology Division in July last year.

Industry Committee Chairman Yoram Dvash welcomed the receipt of the new equipment and said: "We thank the Lior Gemological Equipment company for the generous contribution of the gemological equipment and we are happy to provide it to IDE members who can use the most advanced equipment in the world. I am sure that bourse members will get the most out of this equipment. Many thanks for the contribution of this equipment."
