Israel Diamond Exchange President Shmuel Schnitzer and members of the bourse management, along with past Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team captain Tal Brody visited on Tuesday the Dana-DouekChildren's Hospital and presented Hanukkah gifts to children.
Also taking part in the visit was vice-president and chairman of the Finance Committee and the head of the medical contacts of the exchange Yehezkel Blum, the exchange's general manager Moti Besser, a member of the exchange and football coach, Menashe Cohen, exchange member and a department head for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Amnon Avidan, exchange member who is active in 'Little Heroes' Uri Badihi, and Emmanuel Attar who is in charge of the guards in the trading hall, who is a highly active volunteer.
At the hospital, the diamond exchange representatives were joined by senior representatives of the hospital administration, including Deputy Director Dror Mandel, Head of Children's Orthopedics, Prof. Shlomo Weintraub, Deputy Director of the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Ronit Lubetzky, director of bone marrow transplants in children, Dr. Ronit Elhasid, director of Pediatric Surgery Dr. Gad Lotan and director of Nursing Tami Zamir.
During the visit, the participants went along with Tal Brody and a medical clown, between the different departments, giving kids a holiday gift package that included among other things a Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team shirt and sweatpants with the logo of the Israel Diamond Exchange, and other surprises.
The visit caused much excitement among the children wards who asked to be photographed with the entourage of diamantaires and of course with Tal Brody. Shmuel Schnitzer, said: "We are delighted to bring a smile to the faces of the children. The diamond exchange works for the community in a variety of areas and continues the tradition of giving during Hanukkah to the children of the Dana-Duek hospital. Happy holiday and a speedy recovery to all the children."
