IDE Ceremony For Lighting of First Channukah Candle

Hundreds of members of the Israel Diamond Exchange took part in the ceremony yesterday (Wednesday) of the lighting of the first candle of Chanukkah that took place in the Trading Hall in the presence of Israel Diamond Exchange President Shmuel Schnitzer, the Mayor of Ramat Gan, Israel Singer, members of the presidency and senior management from the diamond exchange and sector.

Deputy President and Chairman of the Religious Culture Committee Ya'akov Heron Sheli said: "The Hasmoneans showed us the way to a Jewish state, and now 2,000 years later, we continue on and illuminate the way for the diamond exchange."

IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer, said: "I am pleased to continue this tradition of lighting the Channukah candles in the diamond exchange, and I am convinced that it will continue for many years. We have the honor of hosting the Mayor of Ramat Gan Yisrael Zinger.

"We know his capabilities and are certain that he will continue the warm relationship that has long existed between Ramat Gan and the diamond bourse under the leadership of the former mayor, Zvi Bar."

The Mayor of Ramat Gan, Israel Singer, said: "It is exciting to be here today. The Israel Diamond Exchange is dear to the city of Ramat Gan. Cooperation between us will of course continue in the future."
