DDC Awards Honorary Membership to Shmuel Schnitzer
DDC President Reuven Kaufman said that the recognition was made to Shmuel Schnitzer to honor his many contributions to strengthening relations between the Israel Diamond Exchange and the DDC during his previous and current presidency.
Israel Diamond Exchange President Shmuel Schnitzer received honorary membership of the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York at a ceremony on Wednesday attended by Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Ron Prosor, held during the third day of the Israel Diamond in New York.
DDC President Reuven Kaufman, who spoke of his close relationship with the Schnitzer family, said that the recognition was made to Shmuel Schnitzer to honor his many contributions to strengthening relations between the Israel Diamond Exchange and the DDC during his previous and current presidency.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kaufman spoke of his relationship with Moshe Schnitzer, Schnitzer's father, who served as the fourth president of the IDE and is known as one of the pillars of the Israeli diamond industry.
Kaufman praised the work of Schnitzer's father and said, "Moshe was a sincere person and a professional businessman who could be trusted. We thought there would never be an IDE President like Moshe Schnitzer, but here we see his son Shmuel, continuing his line with another term as president, and we must also note the work of his son, Shai Schnitzer. "
On receiving the DDC award, Shmuel Schnitzer thanked Kaufman for his remarks and thanked members of the DDC as well. At the end of his speech, Schnitzer presented Kaufman with a gift, an engraving on stone of an old lamp.
