Indian Retailer Reports 10% Rise in Sales of Diamond Jewelry
The Diwali holiday is a critical sales period for the Indian jewelry manufacturing and retailing sectors.
Indian jewelry retailer Pure Gold Jewellers says there has been a 10-percent increase in diamond jewelry sales during the Diwali festival period which began on November 3.
The jewelry retailer also said it had recorded a 40-percent increase in gold jewelry sales during the festival this year compared to 2012.
According to Firoz Merchant, Chairman of Pure Gold Jewellers, “This is one of our best Diwali sales so far and it is indicative of growing consumer confidence. As gold prices have fallen by almost 25 percent compared to last year, we experienced a surge in gold jewelry sales. Our dedicated festival collection at the best market price, and special promotional offers attracted customers."
Pure Gold Jewellers launched a special Diwali diamond jewelry collection.
