Final Touches Finalized for Israel Diamond Week in New York
Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) President Shmuel Schnitzer held a meeting yesterday with representatives of the 125 Israeli diamond companies taking part in the New York Buyers Week. Schnitzer presented a progress report of the various issues related to the event and replied to questions.
Members of the IDE management headed by President Shmuel Schnitzer, met yesterday (Tuesday) in the president's conference room with representatives of the 125 Israeli diamond companies participating in the November 11-14 Israel Diamond Week in New York.
During the meeting, Shmuel Schnitzer updated the participants that progress has been made on the issue of insurance. It was agreed that each diamantaire will work with his insurance company. Shmuel Schnitzer wished the participants success and said, "I am convinced that the Israeli diamond industry will prove once again its many strengths and abilities."
IDE General Manager Moti Besser informed the participants that the Diamond New York (DDC) of New York will be beefing up its security system. Likewise, other issues relating to the event were discussed, including hotel expense reimbursement of up to $200 in total as agreed with the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) upon presentation of a ticket and an invoice from the hotel that has beenarranged with the DDC, badges for exhibitors and buyers, meals and other subjects.
Additionally, the schedule of the event was presented, which also includes a festive reception to be held on Wednesday, December 13 where Israel's UN ambassador, Ron Prosor, will make a presentation.
The IDE's Treasurer and Chairman of the Polished Diamonds Tradeshows, Moti Fluk, told the participants about the international campaign that was launched ahead of the Buyers Week, and called upon the participants to assist in the success of the project by inviting American buyers to register on the DDC's web site for the event.
It is to be hoped that many buyers will visit the Israeli Diamond Week in New York, being held for the second time, and which has been ideally timed before the Christmas sales season. It provides buyers with an excellent opportunity to replenish stocks before the start of the sales season in which a large part of annual sales takes part.
