Big Rise in Level of Service at Import-Export Office

Upon entering office as the newly elected Israel Diamond Exchange President, Shmuel Schnitzer agreed with Diamond Controller Shmuel Mordechai on steps to improve service in the Import-Export Office.
In one of his first meetings as president on October 14, Shmuel Schnitzer met with Diamond Controller Shmuel Mordechai to look into ways of raising the level of service.

The Diamond Controller agreed to Schnitzer's call, and submitted a request for a proposed tender for the approval of the Legal Adviser of the Economy Ministry to take on four additional inspectors.

The aim is to increase the capability of the Import-Export Office and thus reduce the pressure and improve the service to diamantaires, particularly at the start of the week.

Schnitzer instructed the IDE's General Manager, Moti Besser, to keep in continual contact with the Diamond Controller and to provide him with all assistance necessary to be able to rapidly deal with the issue.

It was also agreed that further ways would be investigated to improve, streamline and generally make easier the import-export process for diamond companies.
