DDC NY President Reuven Kaufman Awarded Honorary IDE Membership
The second day of the buyers week again saw huge interest with the IDE’s trading halls packed out.
New York Diamond Dealers Club President Reuven Kaufman was awarded honorary membership of the Israel Diamond Exchange on the second day of the US & International Diamond Week.
The award was made by honorary president of the World Diamond Council and CIBJO Eli Izhakoff who spoke of his long friendship with Kaufman.
“Reuven is a senior partner in this initiative to create US & International Diamond Week which is quite unbelievable. You just have to look around the hall to see that.
“I am very proud to have Reuven as a friend. He has done great work as president of the DDC, and is very deserving of this award.”
Receiving the award, Kaufman said that he had celebrated his birthday on the first day of the buyers week (Monday). “I cannot think of a better place to have a birthday in a great country and with great friends. Words alone cannot express what we are seeing here.
“This sets the tone for the holiday season that will soon be coming up. People are keeping prices strong and that shows great confidence in the market.”
