Indian Polished Diamond Exports Jump 43.1% to $1.78 Billion in May
India's polished diamond exports surged 43 percent on the year in May to $1.78 billion , the Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) reported in provisional figures.
Exports of polished goods jumped by 40.1 percent to $3.61 billion in April-May.
In polished goods imports, there was an increase of 172 percent to $537 million in May, and of 68.8 percent to $937.3 million for the year-to-date figure.
Rough imports increased by 44.6 percent to $1.64 billion in May, and by 30.5 percent to $3.56 billion for the April-May period.
Exports of Rough last month were $134.6 million, and in the April-May period amounted to $376.7 million, a jump of 62.2 percent.
