Scores of diamantaires from dozens of countries are expected to visit the IDE's Trading Hall at the end of August to see the polished diamonds to be offered by IDE members.
The IDE is again expecting a strong response from buyers from across the globe and with high levels of business taking place – with the August fair to be even larger. News of the success of the first edition of the event, in March, was widely reported around the world, leading scores of overseas firms to register their interest in taking part.
In addition to the media reports on the first buyers week in March, the IDE is also promoting the event at international trade shows, and after the first, at Vicenza, there have been enquiries from dozens of companies interested in participating.
The IDE is also spreading awareness of the event with direct mail blasts to thousands of diamond buyers around the globe, and via emissaries who have reached agreement on participation with IDE President Yair Sahar, the event's steering committee, Sahar's deputy, Moti Fluk, with Ami Parter and management member Yitzhak Cohen.
The Israel Diamond Institute, under the leadership of Moti Ganz, and management of Eli Avidar, is once again helping with the promotion of the event due to the importance it attaches to the fair and promoting the Israeli diamond industry in general.
Sahar said: "The fruitful cooperation between DDC NY President Reuven Kaufman and I, which began with the Israel Week in New York last December and which continued with the first US & International Diamond Week in March, is continuing to gain further traction. I am convinced that this trading platform that we have created for the whole diamond trade will take business forward and lead us to new heights."
Registration for the buyers' week is via the IDE's web site or at the special points set up in the Trading Hall. Interested companies can register until August 4, and it is advised to register early since the number of places is restricted.
