Friends of the Diamond Industry Ceremony to take place at Yahalom Theater

Friends of the Israeli diamond industry awards to be presented on May 21 to 13 people who had an influence on the way the Israeli diamond sector has developed. The event is open to the public.
The Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association – under the leadership of its president, Avraham 'Bumi' Traub – will present its Friends of the Diamond Industry awards at a special ceremony on May 21. The event will take place at the Yahalom Theater which is close to the Israel Diamond Exchange buildings.

The ceremony will be attended by Israel's Minister of Economics and Trade, Naftali Bennett, the chairman of the Industrialists Association Zvi Oren, the chairman of the Hoteliers Association Ami Federman, Israel Diamond Exchange President Yair Sahar, and senior members of the Israeli diamond sector.

Sahar, who will make a speech at the event, praised Traub for his initiative in recognizing the work of the founding members of the Israeli diamond sector.

The awards will be made to: Rafael Ahroni, Gedalya Ahronov, Eliezer Broide, David Ya'akovitch, Danny (David) Lustig, Uziel Etzioni-Timberg, Asher Rafael, Leo Schachter, and to the families of those who have passed away. These are: Baruch Greenberg, Bezalel Dayagi, Eliezer Zilberman, Yitzhak Forem and Avraham Emnoeli (Philosof).

The event will be compered by TV Channel 2 Economics Correspondent, who is a member of the second generation in the diamond industry, Elad Shamhyoff. The diamantaire Ronen Lazarov, who is also a member of the second generation in the diamond trade, will sing at the event which begins at 5pm.
