CIBJO's Annual Congress Kicks Off in Tel Aviv

CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, begins its annual congress in Tel Aviv today (May 7) following the two-day Ninth Annual Meeting of the World Diamond Council.
Both international gatherings are being held under the auspices of the Israel Diamond Institute which has organized the meetings at the Dan Panorama hotel.

CIBJO Congresses serves as the official gathering place for the World Jewellery Confederation’s Assembly of Delegates, and also the venue for the annual meetings of CIBJO’s sectoral commissions, where amendments can be introduced to the organisation’s definitive directories of international industry standards for diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, gem labs and precious metals, known as the Blue Books.

The CIBJO Congress is also where the programme of World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation (WJCEF) and CIBJO’s ongoing cooperation with the United Nations is reported upon.

The pre-Congress part took place on May 5 and 6. The Congress ends on May 9.
