Lucara Holding Tender of Large Rough Diamonds

Lucara Diamonds is to hold a tender 15 diamonds very large rough diamonds from its Karowe mine in Botswana, including one stone weighing 239 carats and another of 123.63 carats.

The diamonds are on display ahead of the tender, and are part of its first tender of Special stones.

The diamonds were on display in Gaborone, Botswana, from April 26 to 30. The diamonds will be available for viewing at the offices of brokers Bonas in Antwerp, Belgium, from May 3 to 22.

The smallest diamond on tender is an 11.46-carat stone, with nine of the diamonds weighing in excess of 35 carats.

Two blue diamonds have been uncovered at the Karowe mine in the past year. Karowe is expected to produce up to 400,000 carats per annum.
