The annual CIBJO Congress debates issues related to diamonds, gemstones, gemology, pearls, precious metals and jewelry.
There are just 10 days to go to the start of the annual congress of CIBJO – the World Jewellery Confederation under the leadership of Gaetano Cavalieri that will take place May 5-7 at the Dan Panorama hotel in Tel Aviv.

The congress opens on the day after the end of the World Diamond Council's (WDC) Ninth Annual Meeting that also takes place in Tel Aviv. Both events are being sponsored by the Israel Diamond Institute under the leadership of Moti Ganz.

The CIBJO congress will discuss a wide range of issues related to the diamond industry, as well as gemstones, gemology, pearls, precious metals, jewelry and CIBJO's Blue Book on gemology starting on May 5 with meetings of CIBJO officers being held beforehand.

"We are looking forward with great anticipation to the CIBJO Congress which is taking place inm Israel for the first time, and we thank Moti Ganz, the Chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute, for his generous assistance," said CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri.

"Israel, which is known as a major global diamond and gemstone center, is also an important jewelry producer that also serves as a developer of advanced technologies which serve our industries. This year's congress will give a fascinating insight into this exciting country," he said.

Moti Ganz said: "It is a honor for us to receive the top members of the global jewelry industry. We are completely committed to our sector and the people in it, and we regard the dialog and cooperation that CIBJO provides as very important. It will be an excellent congress that will give CIBJO members the opportunity to learn about the Israeli diamond industry and to see Israel and its ancient history up close."
