Ambassador meets IDE President Yair Sahar and members of exchange leadership, visits Trading Hall, and is briefed on activities of diamond sector and its contribution to the national economy.
The Belgian ambassador to Israel, John Cornet d'Elzius, paid an official visit to the Israel Diamond Exchange today (April 18) where he was shown around the Trading Hall, and met with exchange president Yair Sahar, and his deputy Moti Fluk and vice president Ben-Zion Shaso, Control Committee Chairman Shaul Yitzhaki, honorary bourse president Hagai Halevi, and exchange General Manager Moti Besser.

During the visit, Yair Sahar explained to the ambassador about the structure of the Israeli diamond sector and the Israel Diamond Exchange.
Moti Besser gave a briefing on the development of the diamond sector during the past few decades, and presented import and export figures relating to rough and polished diamonds, the rise in net polished exports over the years, diamond exports in comparison to the rest of Israel's industrial exports, and polished diamond export destinations.
He also explained about the diamond exchanges role and contribution to the wider community.
At the end of the visit, Yair Sahar presented the ambassador with a picture of the Old City of Jerusalem.
