In a celebratory setting, the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) today (April 11) signed an agreement to join Israel Electric Corp's Consumer Club. Starting next Wednesday, members of the exchange and workers in the Israeli diamond sector can enjoy a wide range of benefits, discounts and unique offers offered to workers in the strongest union in the country.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of IDE President Yair Sahar, vice president Moti Fluk, Shalom Kfir, Ben-Zion Shaso, IDE Treasurer Shlomo Shamshovitch, IDE honorary secretary Hagai Halevi, members of the management Amotz Raz and Yosef Ben-Zion, Control Committee Chairman Shaul Yitzhaki, Diamond Controller Shmuel Mordechai, IDE General Manager Moti Besser, V-P Finance Dan Merom, deputy General Manager Irit Ben-Shachar, deputy accountant Gadi Stein, David Yarat, Esti Wertheimer, chairman of the Israel Electric Corp's national secretariat David (Miko) Tzarfati, chairman of the southern branch Zion Lugassi, secretary of the national committee Aharaon Ben-Simon, chairman of the Israel Electric Corp's Consumer Club lawyer Yifrach Shochat, the club's V-P Finance Ya'akov Aloni, and its General Manager Lior Sasson.
IDE President Yair Sahar congratulated all present, saying: "Thank you to everyone who helped us reach this agreement. I am sure the bourse and Electrip Corp will continue to work together for a long time to come and to care for the interests of our workers. Thanks to the agreement we are signing today, members of the Israeli diamond sector, along with members of and workers of the diamond exchange, can enjoy for the first time the benefits provided by the Israel Electric Corp's Consumer Club. The Israeli diamond sector employs many workers from the religious and ultra-Orthodox sectors who can now benefit from larger-scale consumer buying power. We all awaited this day, and I congratulate this cooperation with the Israel Electric Corp."
Israel Electric Corp's national secretariat David (Miko) Tzarfati said: "I appreciate very much the fact that the IDE chose to join our Consumer Club. Our union motto is the welfare of our workers and I am very happy that the bourse will use our club as a platform for promoting the interests of the IDE's workers and members and the people in the diamond sector in Israel. I hope that this will lead to futher ventures between our two organizations.

Members of the IDE can join the club from next Wednesday via a dedicated web site. Registration points will also be set up around the exchange and workers will assist members to register. People joining the club will receive a magnetic card which will provide a permanent reduction of 15% (buy for 1,000 shekels and pay 850 shekels) at a range of retail chains. In addition, members can receive the following benefits:
• Purchase of tickets at significant discounts for most attractions in the country
• Purchase of tickets at significant discounts for performances, entertainment and cultural events
• Reductions on prices of membership for theaters, opera, etc
• Discounts at fitness clubs
• Special promotions for tourism on a special web site
• Vouchers for special breakfasts and spas
• Discounts on prices of bed and breakfasts
• Lower prices for purchase of consumer goods such as electrical items and others
How does it operate?
All activities will be carried out via a special and secure web site with discounts for a range of products. Members will be able to purchase only by using a credit card. Members will also have the assistance of a telephone service center.
