Kimberley Process Chair Nhlapo to deliver speech at World Diamond Council meeting
Kimberley Process Chair, Ambassador Welile Nhlapo, will deliver a speech at the Plenary Session of the May 5-6 Ninth Annual Meeting of the World Diamond Council in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Ambassador Nhlapo, who took over as KP Chair at the start of this year, previously served as South Africa's Ambassador to Washington, D.C.
In addition, Tung-Lai Margue, Director, Head of the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments of the European Commission, the EU body that supervises Kimberley Process compliance among European Union states, will also address the Plenary Session.
Leaders of the diamond and jewelry industries from around the world, as well as representatives of government and civil society, take part in the annual WDC meeting.
While the first day of the meeting will include a board meeting, the second day will feature the WDC Plenary Session.
