Armenia airport's customs chief arrested on diamond smuggling suspicions

Armenia's Special Investigation Service arrested the top customs control official at Yerevan international airport on Tuesday.
He is suspected of aiding in the smuggling of 2,702.58 carats of diamonds brought into the country by a passenger on a flight from the United Arab Emirates, RIA Novosti reported.

Arsen Papazian, the customs officer, was arrested, while another man, Ashot Gasparyan, a resident of the Yerevan, was also taken into custody.
