Number of overseas buyers grows on second day of US/International Diamond Week

A rising number of overseas buyers are entering the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) for the US/International Diamond Week which was officially by Executive VP, Global Sales, De Beers, Varda Shine, on Sunday.
In addition to the 65 overseas buyers who registered beforehand for the event, a further 91 have also registered as of Monday morning, making a total of 154 so far.

Today (March 18) there will be an opening ceremony presided over by IDE President Yair Sahar and Diamond Dealers Club of New York President Reuven Kaufman.

The buyers' week started on Sunday morning and the atmosphere of positive business being done was almost immediately apparent, with Israeli diamantaires reporting sales.

And as of Monday morning, the numbers of buyers inspecting the goods on offer from the more than 150 Israeli diamond firms had grown further as the IDE's 'Festival of Diamonds' expanded with strong interest from buyers from all over the world.

The Israeli companies are offering more than $1 billion of polished diamonds for sale.

The largest number of buyers is from the United States, while there are also buyers from United Kingdom, Belgium, South Africa, India, Hong Kong, Turkey, Japan, China, Spain, Canada, Russia and Switzerland.
