Carrie Underwood sparkles at Grammys with $31 million diamond necklace

Carrie Underwood, the popular American singing star, provided the most sparkle at the 2013 Grammy Awards as she wore necklace with a valued of $31 million.

Designed by Johnathon Arndt, the necklace was by far the most expensive jewelry worn to the event.

The necklace is set with a total weight of 381 carats of diamonds. They include oval, pear, marquise and round brilliant white diamonds.

“It’s heavy on my soul. I’m afraid someone is going to tackle me and steal it … It’s worth more than me," Underwood said.

It is customary for leading American singers and actresses to wear outstanding items of jewelry lent by well-known jewelry designers to awards ceremonies.
