IDI again organizing national pavilion at February IIJS Signature Show in Mumbai
The Israeli Diamond Institute (IDI) will again have a national pavilion at the IIJS Signature Show in Mumbai next month – the third year in a row – which will feature some of Israel’s top diamond companies.
The Israel Diamond Pavilion, to be located in Hall 2 at the February 22-25 show, will include major booths by several of Israel’s largest exporters, including the Dalumi Group, Julius Klein-Eliaz Diamonds, Leo Schachter Diamonds, Lili Diamonds, S. Juwal Diamonds, Shlomo Bichachi Diamonds and Vision International Diamonds.
The IDI will also have an image booth in the pavilion to provide information about the Israeli industry and to register buyers for the IDI's portal site.
India is a key market for Israeli diamond firms, and has become a major marketing destination for Israeli companies.
The IDI organizes Israel Diamond Pavilions at three major Indian trade shows during the year – the UBM Jewellery & Gem Fair in January, the IIJS Signature in February, and the IIJS in August.
The IDI said that based on Israeli exhibitors’ experience at the UBM Jewellery & Gem Fair last month, "it is clear that the Indian diamond market is back on track and is keen on Israeli diamonds."
IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said that the reawakening of the Indian market was a good sign for the Israeli diamond industry and its counterparts abroad. “The global diamond industry has had a very challenging year. The positive signs we have seen in India since the beginning of 2013 are very encouraging. We are optimistic that 2013 will be a much better year for our local industry and for our colleagues around the world,” Ganz said.
Meanwhile, IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar said that the Israeli diamond industry views the Indian diamond sector as an important strategic partner. “IDI is committed to enhancing Israel’s trade connections with the Indian diamond industry. In 2013 we look forward to working closely with our Indian colleagues to expand and deepen these ties,” he said. Avidar added that IDI planned to open an office in the Bharat Diamond Bourse during the course of the year.
