Organizers of VicenzaOro Winter fair pleased with exhibitor/visitor numbers
The organizers of the 2013 edition of VicenzaOro Winter fair, the International gold and jewelry show, said 1,500 companies had exhibited, while there were 7,600 foreign visitors and 8,586 visitors from Italy.
The January VicenzaOro fair is held at the beginning of the year and markets itself heavily as giving visitors the first indication on market trends as well as serving as a barometer for the state of the health of the diamond and jewelry market.
Show organizers said that despite the complex state of the market, there were signs of interest among buyers and exhibitors alike.
Altogether, the number of buyers over the six days of the exhibition came to more than 29,000
"I would like to thank our company partners for this wonderful edition of VicenzaOro," said Roberto Ditri, President of Fiera di Vicenza. "For all the new ideas and the great variety of the jewelry on display, their evident research and extremely qualified offers.
"The influx of visitors is a positive sign for the jewelry world, especially for Italian-made products. If the abundance of Italian traders is a good sign, then the presence of foreigners, particularly in terms of the quality and determination of the buyers, is extremely significant.
"At the moment the economy of the jewelry industry is being dragged along by the foreign markets, especially non-European ones, and for this reason, the fact that we saw retailers from Canada, the United States and Central America, Russia and the ex-Soviet Republics, Asia, the Middle East and Turkey, is enormously satisfying. The increase in the numbers of people coming from the Balkans and Greece is also interesting."
