The class will be taught in association with the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) from November 13-17.
To be taught by experienced and qualified GIA instructors, the Diamond Grading Lab class combines technical and practical education in the observation and evaluation of these gems, the GIA said in a statement.
Participants will work with real gemstones, a modern gem microscope and a jeweler’s loupe to learn how to grade diamonds consistently and accurately.
The class studies GIA’s Diamond Grading System, explores time-saving shortcuts to determine a variety of grading factors, and introduces methods for reading a GIA Diamond Grading Report.
