Yehuda Sayag

Yehuda Sayag was born in 1947 in Damascus (Syria), smuggled into Israel at the age of 14 and settled in Kibbutz Hulda residing there until his discharge from army service where he served in the paratroopers unit.
 
In 1966 he began to train in diamond processing under the late Uri Slibovsky. Three years later he established a group which dealt in polishing marquise diamonds as sub-contractors of the Tel Aviv Diamonds Company.
 
In 1974 he became a member of the Diamond Exchange and established the Eran Diamonds Company which deals in manufacturing and operates in Israel, the United States, United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.
 
Alongside his business activities, he served one term as an observer on the Executive Committee of the Manufacturers' Association. In 2005 he was elected for the first time as a member of the Diamond Exchange Directorate and served as Chairman of the Administrative Committee for Current Issues at the Diamond Exchange Enterprises directorate.
 
In the 2007 elections he was reelected as a member of the Diamond Exchange Directorate and was appointed Vice President of the Diamond Exchange. During his term he served as Chairman of the Administrative Committee for Current Issues and as Chairman of the Enforcement Committee on the Diamond Exchange Enterprises board of directors where he served as a representative of the Exchange Directorate.
 
In the 2009 elections he was elected for a third time as a member of the Diamond Exchange Directorate. He was appointed Vice President of the Diamond Exchange. During this term he served as Chairman of the Administrative Committee for Current Issues.
 
The 2011 elections saw him elected to a fourth consecutive term as a member of the Diamond Exchange Directorate where he was appointed Executive Vice President . He also serves as a member of the board of the Diamond Exchange Enterprises.
